Sickles Market at Holly Hill

Over a hundred years ago, Sickles Market began as a farm, selling fruits and vegetables from the back of a truck to neighboring residents and businesses.  Today, this third-generation, family-owned business is a favorite destination for the highest quality fresh produce, award-winning gourmet food selection, and award-winning garden center, florist, and gift boutique.

As part of its extensive community support programs, Sickles Market installed and is maintaining both a vegetable garden and a gourmet kitchen pantry, dubbed “The Wow Pantry,” at the Stately Homes By The Sea Designer Show House, Holly Hill, to benefit the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey.  In addition, Sickles is conducting complimentary cheese tastings at Holly Hill each Sunday afternoon from 1-3 p.m. throughout the month of May.

The Sickles Market garden and pantry support the VNA while celebrating its community’s beautiful history and beautiful quality of life.  Together, they underscore the pleasures of farm-to-table living, knowing where our food comes from, and choosing real foods for real enjoyment.  

The Sickles garden combines utilitarian and aesthetic features that were common for kitchen gardens during the early 1900s. With a wide range of vegetables, berries, herbs, and fruit trees actively growing and producing, the garden will be continually evolving during the duration of the designer Show House event through June 13, 2011.  The garden is constructed in a manner that will appeal to novices and experts alike.

The Sickles "Wow Pantry" adjacent to the home’s kitchen includes a selectively chosen collection of oils and vinegars, mustards, condiments seasonings and sauces, chocolates, honey, dried fruits, nuts, grains and more.  It illustrates what a well-rounded, functional pantry stocks to meet a wide range of needs, tastes, and occasions, from everyday snacks and staples, to rare specialties for dining and entertaining in true gourmet style. 

Sickles Market Wow Pantry packages are available for purchase to suit a variety of different interests and needs, from stocking beach cabanas to extensive gourmet kitchens.
