He/she may at times assist in the preparation of meals by chopping vegetables, making salads, and putting together entrees. Such skills include proficiently being able to utilize a wide range of kitchen tools including proper knife handling. General Responsibilities: Load, run and unload dish machine. Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately. Ensures that food is properly stored. Performing kitchen maintenance; emptying the trash, mopping floors and washing dishes. Flexible schedule. Deli Barback- (FT/PT)
Responsible for packing out soups, dressing, salads, making sure all items in the cases are full, putting deliveries away, removing garbage from deli line and keeping area clean and sanitary in accordance with established procedures. Reports directly to Deli/Asst. Deli Manager. Applicant must be able to lift 40 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time. Weekends necessary.
Cashier Clerk (FT/PT)
A Cashier is asked to quickly and efficiently bag customers’ groceries, box plant items, and at times may have to wrap certain items. Accuracy is extremely important as a Cashier is responsible to check-out customer purchases quickly, using correct prices and codes. Retail experience a plus! This includes the ability to lift 25 or more pounds occasionally and standing for extended periods of time. After school and weekends a must.
Gift Baskets Clerk (FT)
The Gift Baskets Clerk position is an integral part of the company due to the volume of sales and foot traffic of the department on a yearly basis. Gifts Baskets Clerk is required to greet, interact and help customers with their retail needs. The new hire will be asked to help with various store needs with an enthusiastic, positive attitude. This Team Member also fulfills daily retail requirements such as restocking, making baskets to sell, fulfilling gift basket orders, etc. Additional duties include the creation of exceptional gifts baskets to Sickles’ standards, using retail merchandise, breads, pastries, etc. provided by the store. The position will also require an individual who can step into a leadership role and mentor other Team Members. A strong emphasis will be placed on training and educating Team Members, customers, handle the monthly inventory, and order supplies needed. Familiarize self with different cheeses, breads, pastries, bakery items, produce, gift & housewares and all other products in the store and recognize differences among similar products e.g. type, region, production and pairing information to better assist customers. Availability to work weekends, holidays, and other prime times of the business. Production Baker (FT)
As a Production Bakery Clerk you will be providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a wide variety of bakery products. The following are role and responsibilities of the Production Bakery Clerk position: Mix and bake ingredients according to recipes to produce breads, pastries and other baked goods. Measure flour, sugar, and other ingredients to prepare batters, dough and fillings. Using scale and graduated containers, dump ingredients into mixing-machine bowl or steam kettle to mix or cook ingredients according to specifications, roll, cut, and shape dough to form sweet rolls, tarts, cookies and related products preparatory to baking. Observe color of products being baked and turns thermostat or other controls to adjust oven temperature. Apply glaze or other toppings to baked goods, using spatula or brush. May specialize in baking one type of product, such as breads, rolls, tarts, or cakes. Develop new recipes for cakes and other baking goods for management approval. Demonstrate the ability to be organized, to work independently and with the team to provide the highest quality shopping experience, while maintaining product assortment to drive sales. Receive loads and products while keeping an eye out for freshness and superior quality. Arrange cakes, pies, muffins, rolls and other baked goods. Apply ingredient tags and price tags to products. Offer daily feedback to the Bakery Department Manager and Store Management about the Bakery Department, successes and areas of opportunity. As a Production Cook you will use your culinary talents and work with a team to ensure the prepared foods are up to standards our customers have come to expect. You will assist the Deli Manager, Executive Chef and Sous Chef in setting the culinary standard for the store. Complete daily food production requirements, sort and put away deliveries, comply with essential food handling procedures, follow recipes and cooking techniques so food is produced with a consistent outcome. Minimum 2 years solid line &/or cook experience required. Weekends a must, schedule should be flexible; able to work fill in when necessary.
